| LIFTING / ERECTION OF 3 unit upper part quay crane - Lumut plant
In year 2006, we had been awarded a lifting job by IMPSA (M) Sdn. Bhd. to provide our experienced team and cranes to lift and erect three (3) units upper part Quay Crane to connect and rest onto the lower part of the Quay Crane at Lumut Plant for North Port. The loose components of the upper part and lower part Quay Crane were also erected by Trans Elite on the ground with our experienced manpower which consist of a team of Site Manager, Lifting Supervisor, Foreman, Fitter, Welders, Riggers, etc.
Before the commencement of the job, our technical department had studied the drawings and communicated with IMPSA (M) Sdn. Bhd. Our engineering department had produced the rigging drawings & consulted our client on how to lift up the Quay Crane (62260mm Long x 21540mm Width x 28138mm Height - Weight 385mt) and to place on to the lower part of the leg at the height of 50meter.
Our proposal was based on the availability of the crane which we have chosen to use three (3) cranes to lift the Quay Crane. The cranes supplied for this project were one (1) unit Manitowoc 4600 S4 Ringer S3 Crane (600T), one (1) unit Manitowoc 4600S5 Crawler Crane (350T) and one (1) unit CKE 2500 Crawler Crane (250T).
The 600T Crane utilized a tailor made lifting beam to lift at the bottom of main girder of the Quay Crane while the 350T and 250T Crawler Crane was lifting on lifting lug design at the corner of the water side transversal girder of the Quay Crane.
