| MHE Demag Amsteell II, Banting Factory We
were engaged to carry out a very complicated tandem lift to erect one unit of
MHE Demag 90 Tons Overhead Gantry Crane at Amsteel II Banting Factory. Two (2)
units of Liebherr LT1300 (300 Tons) Truck Cranes were supplied and used at the
site. The tandem lift was successfully carried out
by us despite its complicated situation due to the height limitation and other
obstructions as explained below:-

First of all, the height from ground to the roof top was only 60 meter but the
lifting height for the grab (64 metric tons) was 52.50 meter. The roof and trusses
were not allowed to be opened by the client despite the space limitation. Therefore,
it left a limited boom height of only 2.5 meter for our cranes boom clearance.
To overcome this limitation, we extended our boom length to only 55 meter and
the lifting lug was welded to suit the length of the slings in order to reduce
the working height. 2) Secondly, our cranes booms
had only 600 mm space clearance to the girder where we were required to cut the
platform and open a hole on the left sides of the girder, and then on the right
side of the girder, the crane boom had to position and work between the two (2)
beams. Despite such height limitation and space constraint,
our experienced manpower and cranes still successfully carried out the lifting
and work on time without any problem occurred. The detailed lifting procedure
was simulated in our rigging drawings. |
